SUMMARY:
This position involves working with Wausau Homes customers and the Wausau Homes Operations team to create essential documents for the production and field assembly of Residential and Light Commercial Buildings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Generate 3D project models in our production integrated design software
- Roof / Floor and Truss framing design and placement diagrams
- Create additional production and assembly documents, such as wall panel and truss elevations, bottom plate views, rake assembly list, ship loose framing material lists and other cutting documents
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform the job successfully the person needs to have the following skill sets:
- Truss design knowledge: heel heights, truss design standards and sizing
- Wall/Floor design knowledge: panel layout/ structuring and numbering
- Calculations: Ability to calculate beam & I-joists
- Production processes and understanding of workflow
- Advanced design of residential construction and materials:
- Intermediary level of Construction knowledge
- Ability to read and understand plans/blueprints
- Familiar with residential building codes
- Understanding of exterior & interior materials used in a home and when to use them throughout the construction process
- Common framing practices
- Residential design knowledge
- Three-dimensional visualization
- Communication skills:
- In-person, phone and email skills, ability to respond quickly, clearly, and appropriately
- Effective written and oral communication
- Must have the ability to review and solve problems
- Ability to handle multiple projects while staying focused and organized
Education and/or Experience
- 2-year residential design or architectural engineering degree
- Minimum of 2-5 years of design framing experience
- MiTek software experience
- MiTek project set-up and layout, truss, wall/floor design
- MiTek software experience
Computer Skills
To perform this job successful, an individual should have the knowledge or ability to quickly learn the following packages:
- CAD – residential or architectural Computer aided design software knowledge, MiTek a plus
- Microsoft Office Suite Programs
