Senior RTW Designer – Women's Fashion
Our client, a contemporary denim brand based in Los Angeles, is seeking a Senior Designer to join their Women’s RTW growing team. This role is responsible for elevating the brand’s aesthetic while overseeing all woven categories, including soft wovens, knits, and sweaters, from concept to production. The ideal candidate will bring a fresh perspective to contemporary women's fashion and work to continuously push the brand forward.
This is a full-time, onsite role.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Design Director to identify seasonal trends, big ideas, and key silhouettes.
- Create inspirational prototypes for seasonal concept meetings.
- Conduct thorough competitive market research to ensure the brand stays ahead of trends.
- Ensure flawless execution of the product and design vision, from initial sketches through to final production.
- Prepare and present boards that showcase sketches, washes, and fabric choices.
- Adhere to and enforce all calendar deadlines.
- Work closely with Merchandising, Sales, Technical Design, and Production teams to optimize SKU development.
- Monitor trends across product categories, recommending key pieces for development and line inclusion.
- Complete detailed spec/tech packages, including technical illustrations, construction details, trim sheets, and more.
- Mentor and support junior designers, fostering growth and development within the team.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in RTW design for contemporary women's fashion brands is essential.
- Proven leadership experience and team management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or equivalent.
- Experience collaborating with merchandising and sales teams to align on business goals.
- A track record of building strong partnerships while achieving financial objectives.
- Problem-solving skills related to specifications, construction, or material issues with vendors.
- Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Strong sketching and design abilities.
Salary: 100-130K/yr. (DOE)+ Benefits health insurance/ 401 K)
