Assistant Designer - Women's Activewear Job at High Life LLC in New York

We’re looking for an Assistant Designer for our Women’s activewear business! This person will work closely with our Senior Designer and Director of Design. They will help to bring a seasonal line to life on a time sensitive calendar through researching current trends, ideating new product ideas, attending fittings, preparing color boards, and reviewing product quality. They will also have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Technical Design, Graphic Design, Production, Product Development, and Sales. We are looking for someone who demonstrates strong attention to details and has strong passion for activewear.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Senior Designer on seasonal design concepts and trend boards
- Create detailed sketches that are understandable for buyers and factories utilizing Adobe Illustrator
- Build/Generate detailed tech packs for initial sampling, costing and production purposes using PLM
- Manage cads and linesheets with all updates for color, graphic, and details
- Attend fittings and help evaluate fit samples for design details
- Conduct market trend research and bring new inspiration to the table
- Communicate efficiently with cross functional partners including Graphic, Technical Design, Production, Sales, and Planning teams
- Ensure workflow meets the needs of the seasonal design calendar
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design
- 1+ year of design experience
- Strong Illustrator and Photoshop abilities
- Excel experience
- PLM experience is a plus
- Ability to demonstrate design point of view
- Openness to learning, collaborating with a variety of people, and working on a range of design-related tasks
Annual salary range: $50,000 - $55,000
