Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a RTW Associate Designer. The Associate Designer will be responsible for assisting in the design process, including sketching, sourcing materials, creating technical packages, and collaborating with the design team for all RTW categories. They will also be responsible for assisting in sample fittings, maintaining design documentation, and coordinating with suppliers and manufacturers. This is a great opportunity for an individual to gain experience in a range of categories. RTW categories include cut and sew knits, sweaters, soft wovens, hard wovens, outerwear and suiting.
Position Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain sketch boards.
- Create and update tech packs for development.
- Create Illustrator sketches and re-color CADS as needed.
- Logging and organizing seasonal development information for all RTW categories.
- Log in and prep, maintain samples going to outside vendors.
- Attend, prep, and recap development meetings and fittings. Create clear notes on design updates/changes.
- Sample management (Fit/Proto/PP Samples).
- Prep and organize samples, knit downs and strike offs for key milestone meetings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or associate degree in apparel design
- Strong Photoshop skills
- Strong experience in Illustrator sketching and creating technical packs (Excel and PLM systems)
- Knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and production processes
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in the fashion industry as an Assistant Designer
- A portfolio demonstrating taste level and understanding of garment construction
- Highly motivated and eager to learn
- This position is in office 5 days a week
Salary:
- $65,000-$85,000/yr + benefits
