UNM Press is partnering with a university-wide team to create a cutting-edge, sustainable, and affordable model for delivering open educational classroom resources. The Open Educational Resources Designer at UNM Press will specialize in the design and layout of faculty-created online educational materials and academic resources to deliver content that enhances learning through innovative design and technology. Reporting to the Press, the OER Designer will work with faculty and staff across UNM and our consortium partners, including the College of New Mexico and Santa Fe Community College. This role requires skills and experience in both graphic design and web development in order to produce engaging, accessible, and effective educational resources.Responsibilities and Duties:Design a wide range of electronic educational materials with a focus on user engagement and pedagogical effectiveness.Create complex, original graphic designs and comprehensive layout concepts tailored for online learning environments.Coordinate the production of OER materials, ensuring adherence to technical and accessibility standards.Develop and maintain integrated educational websites, ensuring high functionality, usability, and relevance to educational goals.Plan and implement design strategies that effectively integrate text, multimedia elements, and interactive features.Collaborate with educators, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to align designs with educational objectives.Participate in the strategic planning of educational goals and objectives, ensuring the seamless integration of design and content.Founded in 1929, UNM Press is one of the oldest and largest university presses in the West.
