Tesla is hiring: Sr. Fire Protection Designer in Sparks

As a Sr. Tesla Fire Protection Designer, you will be responsible for fire sprinkler design utilizing HydraCAD and BIM coordination of the following systems: Wet and Dry Fire Sprinkler System; Pre-action and Deluge Fire Sprinkler System; Water Mist; Foam; Automatic Standpipes; and Fire Pumps. You will utilize CAD/REVIT software to provide support to Self-Perform Construction Team by preparing routine layouts of fire sprinkler systems, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches and diagrams.

* Review documents and coordinate internally with the design team/construction and possible subcontractors to gather the required information to design the projects sprinkler system

* Create detailed drawings through extensive use of HydraCAD

* Submit packages for review and approval to AHJ for permit

* Involved in BIM coordination

* Perform hydraulic calculations

* Create stock lists for all material required throughout the project

* Maintain design historical records for future use

* Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or equivalent experience

* NICET Level II or higher or Fire Protection Engineer certifications required

* Demonstrated ability with AutoCAD, HydraCAD (or similar), REVIT and Navisworks

* Proven ability and track record of performing work in a timely manner and meeting deadlines

* 4 or more years of experience in commercial and industrial design

* Strong communication skills

* Willing to coordinate and collaborate with others
