Salary: $17 hourly

FLEXIBLE/HYBRID SCHEDULING AVAILABLE


GW, a premier publishing services provider, is looking for a creative individual passionate about education and learning to join our growing team. As an Assistant Developmental Editor, you will be working in our Content Development team, which creates educational (instructional) content and assessments, focusing on higher education and adult learning.


Our mission is to (1) create content that enhances the learning experience, (2) create assessments that accurately assess mastery, (3) provide unmatched customer support throughout development, and (4) have a little fun along the way!


You will directly contribute to these causes by providing support to our in-house instructional designers and subject matter experts (SMEs).

Job Duties:

Your daily duties will include a mix of:

  • Ensuring content conforms to supplied templates (file formatting, order of content) Performing quality checks on content and assessments written by freelance SMEs/writers; including evaluating for overall quality, spelling, grammar, clarity, and alignment with project goals and correcting as needed
  • Occasionally writing/rewriting questions


As an Assistant Developmental Editor, the majority of your work will be done using Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.

Requirements:

We are looking for someone who checks 100% of these boxes.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Previous writing experience, in particular analytical writing
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word and Track Changes
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Strong writing and grammar skills
  • Strong organizational skills


Other Qualifications:

Although not required, these qualifications will give you a leg up:

  • 1+ year’s experience in publishing, education (teaching or research), or training
  • Degree or working toward a degree in instructional design, higher education, or curriculum development
  • Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel Prior customer service or project management experience Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
