Job Description
As a Medical Editor/Proofreader, you play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and compliance of our promotional content. This fast-paced position demands an in-depth understanding of pharmaceutical marketing, a keen eye for detail, and mastery of English grammar and AMA style. Your responsibilities include fact-checking, maintaining editorial standards, and upholding brand guidelines. You must be well-versed in scientific and medical concepts to excel in this role.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Copy, edit and fact-check materials to ensure consistency and adherence to established grammar, punctuation, spelling rules, and AMA, client, and house style guidelines
- Proofread materials to verify alignment with approved content, format, and spacing consistency between copy and graphics
- Stay familiar with FDA, EU, and relevant guidelines and industry standards to ensure documents meet or exceed sponsor and regulatory requirements
- Identify copyrighted material requiring permission for reproduction and process permission requests when necessary
- Utilize company project management and communication software effectively.
- Attend kickoff, status, and other job-related meetings
- Collaborate with the team to incorporate client and medical-legal review feedback, addressing required revisions
Qualifications
- Understanding of pharmaceutical marketing and proficiency in English grammar, punctuation, and AMA style
- Strong knowledge of scientific and medical concepts, vital for maintaining content accuracy
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral
- Detail-oriented with strong copyediting and data integrity review abilities.
- Familiarity with the AMA style guide
- Knowledge of FDA and EU requirements, ICH regulations, and ISO standards as applicable to regulatory documents is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
- Strong time management skills with a focus on prioritization and organization to meet deadlines
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in English, Life Sciences, or Clinical Sciences
- 7+ years of professional copyediting experience, with a proven track record of maintaining content quality and adherence to regulatory standards
Physical Requirements
This remote role demands extended periods of sitting, frequent computer use, and the ability to participate in virtual meetings, requiring clear speech and hearing. Candidates must manage a quiet, ergonomic workspace with reliable internet access.
