Effy Jewelry is seeking a dynamic and experienced Retail Design Manager to execute Cruise Ship Retail Construction projects. The successful candidate will play a role in ensuring the seamless translation of Effy Jewelry's brand identity into physical retail spaces on various ships. This position requires a highly skilled and creative individual with 3+ years of managing design projects from conception to completion. This role reports to the Senior Design Manager within the Store Design and Construction Department and should have experience in Construction Administration phase of projects. Projects will be handed over from the Planning and Design Development Team and will focus on taking Design Development to Construction. This person should have experience working with Cruise Lines, Cruise Ship Outfitters and maritime vendors to execute store construction onboard cruise ships. Working with several parties, the ideal candidate must possess high level of communication skills to work with all of our partners. They should have experience and knowledge in Cruise Ship regulations, requirements, and logistics.
A few key expectations that the Retail Design Manager will lead, support, and manage are:Transition & communication from the Planning TeamMaintain Creative Approvals with the Senior Interior Designer, Cruise Line Partners & Effy LeadershipPlanning Site Visits for Design Teams and ContractorsPartner and Manage Outfitters and Vendors for Pricing, Bidding & ExecutionIn-Field Support requiring national and international travel to cruise ports, shipyards and drydocksAssemble Turnover DocumentationPunch List and Final Buy-Off from Cruise Lines
Responsibilities:Lead and oversee the execution of Effy Retail Store Construction Projects on Cruise ShipsEnsure Alignment with Effy Brand standards and design guidelines set by Leadership & Interior DesignersCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, cruise line partners, outfitters and vendors to ensure successful project delivery are within established timelines and budgetsExecute the Design Development and Concept set by the Planning and Design Development TeamEnsure the Brand Standards are being executed and interpreted appropriately.Provide creative direction and guidance to the outfitters and vendors, ensuring the design concepts are translated effectively into physical spaces.Manage Project Budgets and Contracts that we set and approved by leadership and the planning teamInitiate any Value Engineering alternatives, as neededCoordinate with operations and procurement teams to source materialsImplement and enforce quality assurance processes with vendors and outfitters to ensure the highest standards of design and constructionManage Project Timelines set forth by the Planning team, identifying critical milestones and ensure all project phases are completed on schedule
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Naval Architecture, Construction Management or related3+ Years of proven experience in Project Execution and Construction on Cruise ShipExperience in construction administration, preferably in retail architecture & interiorsSpecific knowledge of the cruise industry is preferredProficiency in Project Management Tools and Tracking & Microsoft OfficeExceptional project management skills, with a focus on on-time and on-budget delivery.Excellent Creative Knowledge and ExperienceAbility to adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
