Apparel Designer/Developer

Our client is looking for an Apparel Designer/Developer to work on a 3 month contract. It's a hybrid schedule. Ideal candidate will be able to execute the design and development process of apparel from design conception through to production.
ResponsibilitiesCreates and ensures seasonal artwork replicates historical intent and adheres to standards through licensing submission process.Facilitates the transition of apparel styles from design conception through sampling stage and into production.Creates and maintains all related garment and trims/label artwork files and technical spec packages ensuring that all information is accurate and sent to allocated vendors per timeline.Creates sales boards and digital images where needed.Reviews and fits samples to guarantee that production of styles is of fit, quality and costing standards.Collaborates to review and obtain approval for fabric/trim qualities, all logo embellishments, and lab dips where needed.Plans and tracks all stages of the development process to ensure timely completion of all duties in accordance to the product development timeline.Communicates closely with domestic and overseas vendors on development concerns and sample tracking.Monitors fabric and garment testing.Requests initial costing info for all new seasonal developments.
Qualifications3+ years design/development experience in the sport apparel or fashion industry requiredMust possess demonstrated proficiency of MAC and all applicable programs including Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office programsExtremely detail oriented and very thoroughExperience with sewing, construction, patternmaking, color, fabric and trim developmentMust have a keen eye for color and design consistenciesAbility to work as part of a larger, fast-paced teamRequires minimal direction and can work independentlySelf-motivated and multi-task oriented
