As a Staff Product Designer, you will join a team of like-minded, mission-driven Product team members bringing more affordable medical imaging to the world - by creating digital experiences and products that are simple, human, and bold. This will be reporting directly to the VP Product.
Our Product Designers take a product, feature, or experience from ideation to production. This includes vision-setting, designing solutions, prototyping, bringing along cross-functional teams, overseeing implementation, and collaborating with other designers, researchers, product managers, analysts, and engineers.
A successful candidate will have a portfolio that demonstrates familiarity with most of these kinds of projects.
As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:Design experiences that simplify complex medical tasks into intuitive interfaces across our devices, mobile apps, and web solutions.Contribute to strategic decisions around the future direction of Butterfly's productsDesign new product features or improve existing usability problems, driven by data, and market research and user research.Work with UX researchers to define the scope of usability testing. Propose testing goals and prepare prototypes.Create new experiences and layouts that develop and define our visual design systems.Drive a partnership with product managers, engineers, and researchers in order to oversee the user experience of a product from conception until launchRegularly present your work to the product design team and cross-functional partners. Provide multiple solutions, explain the design rationale and suggest the best solution.Continuously refine our design language to stay ahead in the industry.Oversee contractors as needed.Qualifications
Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:5+ years of experience designing and shipping products that are broad and complex, delivering end-to-end experiences across various platforms, including mobile, and web.Proficient in interaction design, defining how experiences should behave based on a deep understanding of users' needsSkilled in visual design with expertise in typography, UI for desktop and mobile, color theory, layout, iconography, and an aesthetic sense of how these elements impact product functionality.Experience Competence in relevant design and prototyping tools, like Figma and applying research, usability tests, data and metrics to inform design decisionsStrong communication, collaboration, and self-management skillsEfficient & Speedy - you get work done in a fraction of the time as industry peersIntellectually Curious - you are thoughtful & inquisitive; people enjoy working with you because they learn from youMission-Driven & Committed - you are passionate about the company's purpose and are immensely productiveTeam Oriented - you celebrate and take joy in the success of others on the teamLocation

Compensation
Our estimated salary for this role is between $190,000 - $200,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Actual pay is determined by multiple factors such as skills, qualifications, experience and market demand.
