Division Description

The California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA) Marketing & Communications Division uses marketing, creative & digital media, public relations, and external communications to increase knowledge of, and accessibility to, the Agency's products among its business partner, stakeholder, and consumer audiences. Additionally, Marketing & Communications oversees internal communications, board relations and public-facing messaging. The division staff provides communications support to the Executive Office, Legislative Affairs, Business Development and Governmental Affairs, as well as other divisions throughout the Agency. To support these units Marketing & Communications staff must work with various federal and state legislative, housing, business, and advocacy groups to identify and maximize opportunities to meet the housing and mortgage lending needs of low- and moderate-income families in California.

Position SummaryUnder the direction of the Assistant Director of Board Relations and External Communications, the Information Technology Specialist I lead the design and implementation of accessible, user-centered digital content and print collateral that meets ADA compliance and brand standards. This role manages accessibility audits, designs inclusive visual communications from concept to completion, and collaborates across departments to ensure digital products are engaging, accessible, and legally compliant. The incumbent will need to have a high level of experience of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) laws and be proficient in various software including Microsoft Office and the Adobe Creative Suite. The incumbent handles multiple priorities and requires an excellent working knowledge of personal computers and graphic design principals for layout, print and website.

Working Conditions

CalHFA is a high-rise building conveniently located in downtown Sacramento with access to public transportation (light rail and bus) and freeways (I-5, 99, and Business 80). It is a block from Downtown Commons (DOCO), the Golden 1 Center, many restaurants and shopping. CalHFA employees also have access to an on-site ATM and gym located in the building.
