Student Lab Assistant should have basic knowledge of Adobe Suite programs, Apple Mac & PC computers and Darkroom photographic process. Handing out and putting away equipment. Cleaning and closing up the lab. Replacing in in printers and daily paperwork and other duties as assigned.

Students have plenty of time to complete homework if the lab is slow. Students must prioritize assisting instructors and students when the lab is being used.
Hours available:
15-20 hours per week (Fall & Spring), 30 hours per week in Summer
Schedule flexibility:
Fixed.
Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities (TDRs) and Learning Outcomes:
- Opening and closing lab (CD)
- Running maintenance tasks and replacing ink in printers (TC, CT)
- Keeping labs clean and tidy (PF)
- Assisting instructors and students with technical issues (TC, CM)
- Set up and collapse equipment (CD)
Candidate Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities or KSOAs)
- Students need to be enrolled in at least six credit hours, fall and spring semester.
- Students should understand basic fundamentals of Photography and Graphic Design.
- Students need good communication skills to assist instructors and students.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- GPA of 2.0 at the time of hire at Oakton College or be first semester at Oakton.
