Overview
The Category Manager, Procurement will be responsible for the strategy development and strategic sourcing activities within one or more of ABM’s spend categories outlined below. Spend under management for this role will likely range between $50M - $150M.
ABM spend categories include a wide range of products and services including Equipment, Materials, Supplies, Indirect Services, IT, and Subcontracting. This team member is charged with developing and leading effective and efficient sourcing plans that are aligned with the strategic objectives of the business both vertically and regionally. The procurement team utilizes a consultative approach with business management and key stakeholders across ABM.
This team member incorporates best practices to develop fit for purpose, robust and results oriented Procurement strategies to deliver world class results. This is a highly visible role and an ideal opportunity for a top performer who enjoys building relationships and delivering consistent value to the business.
Primary Responsibilities
Development of enterprise-wide category strategies with respective internal business leads. This will involve:
Ensuring appropriate vertical and regional stakeholder engagement
Understanding business requirements, demand patterns, market dynamics, supplier economics, etc.
Identifying elements of category strategy with regional or sub-region/local leverage potential
Translate strategies into detailed category plans with set of measurable actions and targets with focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
Provide leadership to internal network to:
Align category targets with each business vertical and identify category “challenges” and manage appropriate solutions
Measurement of results against defined targets
Ensure common sourcing approaches across all verticals and regions for execution & implementation
Forms and leads cross functional strategic sourcing teams to address specific opportunities
Leads development & negotiation of complex agreements with key suppliers
Manage key strategic supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, delivery and responsiveness with focus on TCO
Conduct timely reviews with suppliers to measure performance against contractual standards and performance expectations
Develop and manage risk mitigation plans relating to supplier vulnerability, sourcing options and material availability
Minimum Education/Experience:
Relevant business/technical degree
7 - 10 plus years of stakeholder facing procurement experience with the ability to negotiate related contracts
Experience in a field services company or in a facility management role preferred
Strong oral and written communication skills, highly organized, and excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
Knowledge of strategic sourcing processes/methods and systems (Coupa experience a plus)
Excellent analytical and financial acumen
Strong project management skills
Ability to effectively lead/influence key stakeholders and motivate a team, partly from a distance
Good presentation skills to achieve (business) acceptance of procurement practices and procedures, metrics, budgeting/forecasting routines and changes thereto
This position may be based in Chicago, IL or Houston, TX
Pay:
$90,000-$140,000
