MAJOR FUNCTION:The Jewelry Designer
in collaboration with cross-functional partners in Product, Sales, Marketing and Training
will help concept, create and develop the releases and collections for Fine-Fashion in line with TACORI brand DNA and standards. This role leads product ideation/brainstorm sessions followed by rounds of design iteration, and manages line development in conjunction with the production schedule to ensure on time delivery.This position requires a strong combination of creative vision and 3D modeling skills. We're looking for candidates who excel in both areasPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Design and Product DevelopmentDevelop concepts, designs and technical solutions that supports the overall assortment strategy, KPIs, margins and prices buckets levels;Make suggestions for design, mechanismism and techniques to help improve cost and product margins.Prepare detailed product illustrations ensuring the SKU plan needs are met at the category and collection;Create 2D and 3D technical packages and detailed product specifications to the factory;Create 3D renderings to meeting presentations and TACORI.comSubmit 3D technical drawings of approved sketches that are ready for casting;Manage communication with internal team and factory throughout the manufacturing process until sample approval is complete;Build out and manage thorough sample QA process ensuring execution standards are met and fit is appropriate;Work with PD and CE teams to make routine adjustments to existing designs;Incorporate team feedback, marketing and sales data, and insights throughout several rounds of design edits;Ensure all designs created are in keeping with design best practices and manufacturing standards;Trend Research & Brand EvaluationCollaborate with Design team on update and maintain design boards, strategy materials, and seasonal library;Analyze and forecast current and future design trends in the semi-fine / accessible fine jewelry space with an eye for fashion editorial viability and salability;Work with the Director of Product Strategy to formulate a product roadmap strategy for TACORI to competitively play into the forecasted trends;Requirements & Qualifications:5 years of experience designing, fine or semi-fine jewelry for brands with strong visual identities and brand ethos;Technical training and certification in fine jewelry design and production required;2 years in 3D (Rhinoceros and Matrix), Adobe InDesign and Illustrator to produce detailed product illustrations and technical packs;A strong portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual work with excellent execution of ideas;Exceptionally high degree of aesthetic sensibility in the luxury and accessible luxury jewelry markets;High attention to detail and understanding that even the smallest details and specifications create the most desirable products;Ability to think conceptually and design aesthetically, translating creative direction into visual references.Strategic and creative mindset.Ability to plan, manage time and budgets, and multitask effectivelyGood cross-functional collaboration and teamwork skillsUp to 20% travel required
