Veterans, Reservists, Guardsmen and military family members are strongly encouraged to apply Job Summary Provides strategic design support, utilizing sound project management principles, coordinating with executives, management and staff in various departments. Functions as team leader by giving guidance to other design staff, project direction, providing updates to department members, and mentoring the web team responsible for overseeing digital, multimedia and audio-visual design projects for TriWest's web site, intranet, corporate communications, education and marketing programs. Exhibits advanced knowledge of design, front-end development, user experience, accessibility (Section 508) and maintenance of web sites and content management systems. Works with a team to design and maintain web pages, graphics, template creation, banners, and landing pages for TriWest's website(s). Collaborates with client departments to understand user needs and objectives. Assists in the design and production of TriWest print materials. Consults and provides design recommendation and support for web/digital communications and campaigns, presentations, and specialty projects. Implements web design/graphic solutions to optimize customer and self-service solutions. Ensures adherence to corporate branding and style guidelines. Deadline-driven self-starter with superb customer service skills. Education & Experience Required: If supporting TRICARE contract, must have U.S. Citizenship If supporting TRICARE contract, must be able to receive a favorable Interim and adjudicated final Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Computer Science, Fine Arts, or equivalent experience 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of professional experience and training in web design, graphic design and front-end development 2 years of experience developing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (experience with HTML5, CSS3, and jQuery preferred) Preferred: Experience creating, editing or modifying templates for a CMS or web development framework (EPiServer and Microsoft SharePoint preferred) Experience designing and developing web sites using responsive web design Experience designing and developing web sites to be Section 508 compliant Experience testing cross-browser, cross-platform, and/or cross-device compatibility for inconsistencies Experience in server-side programming languages for templating purposes (ASP.net, and C#) Experience in design, layout and production of print materials Key Responsibilities Collaborates with TriWest communications teams and business units, then develops project plans and schedules to deliver appropriate solutions to meet their communication, design and application needs. Integrates work of subject matter experts, writers, and designers to produce a final product compatible with corporate standards. Works closely with other designers to ensure TriWest design and branding standards are met in print and digital deliverables. Updates TriWest.com website and TriNet intranet site. Executes and maintains the 'creative vision' by determining and implementing the creative design and branding. Serves as back-up to Manager, Creative Services for urgent change management requests, including responding to IT incident management requests. Creates and effectively arranges graphics, images and other content into a creative, cohesive and visually stimulating end-user experience, including the design and creation of: - TriWest web portals, pages, and graphics, - HTML e-mail templates and corresponding landing pages, and - Graphics for audio/visual projects Front-end graphical user interfaces for applications linked to the TriWest web site. Collaborates with Communications, IT and other TriWest staff, to ensure function drives design. Works towards enhancing user experience and improving effectiveness of web and intranet self-service functions. Prepares content utilizing (X)HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and .NET/C#, using Microsoft Visual Studio. Performs continual quality checks of TriWest's intranet and external website design and recommends necessary revisions. Ensure content is up-to-date and all page components properly function. Assists with web coding and testing new web features and applications. Keeps abreast of emerging technologies, new ideas, and solutions for creating high quality interfaces. Other duties as assigned. Technical Skills: Knowledge of web environments, technology and application development and skill in applying that knowledge; knowledge of web and multi-media design principles and standards; skill in designing and optimizing graphics for efficient bandwidth transfer; High-level competency in Adobe Creative Suite (PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat) as well as Microsoft Office; Extensive knowledge of hand-coding HTML, CSS, JavaScript; Knowledge of web design editing software including Microsoft Visual Studio and Adobe Dreamweaver; Proficient in PC operating systems; knowledge of emerging social media channels and skill in leveraging those channels.
