As Director, Strategic Marketing for Global Higher Education to Workforce (GHE), you will be a key member of the GHE team, with a focus on creating and implementing the strategies that brand our product offerings, drive learner, higher education, and workforce outcomes, and deliver on aggressive business launch and growth goals. You will report to the Managing Director, Global Higher Education to Workforce and be responsible for managing the GHE marketing team (and internal and external agencies, as appropriate) and driving execution on business objectives and strategies.
The Director, Strategic Marketing must be creative, strategic, and results-orient, with demonstrated success in a wide variety of marketing areas, including creative and brand, product and lifecycle marketing, and channel and customer acquisition. Across these areas, you must be rigorous in measuring results. This individual must be an owner and a “player coach” and be prepared to be a strategic leader as well as executing the strategy. This individual also must be a missionary, eager to drive products of lasting impact to our customers.
Build and own the marketing and communications strategy to support business objectives for our learner and higher education stakeholders and products.
Serve on the GHE Team, providing the marketing expertise needed on all business initiatives.
Manage the marketing team to execute on the marketing strategy
Manage the overall marketing roadmap and priorities for the team, while measuring output, performance, and ROI of all marketing initiatives
Oversee key marketing functions and channels
Ensure a high bar of quality and judgment that puts our best foot forward in marketing, owns the brand, and ensures direct reports and colleagues also adhere to that high bar.
Adhere to ethical standards and comply with the laws and regulations applicable to your job function
Detailed knowledge of current digital marketing strategies and tools, including SEO, channel marketing, funnel analytics, email/lifecycle marketing, etc.
Experience leading a brand and managing product marketing.
An understanding of modern CMS and UX
Experience setting and measuring performance against content and channel metrics. Excellent aptitude for detail and accuracy and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently, but also as a thought partner and collaborator across the team.
10+ years of marketing and brand experience, preferably with global scope and with a tech brand
3+ years of marcom / PR experience as an element or core component of role
Preferred, though not required: Education and/or education technology experience. Proven experience in leading global brand marketing strategy across value chains including B2B and B2C
Experience working as part of a leadership team and owning both marketing strategy and execution.
Expertise building engaging online communities and creating content marketing based on data and research.
Experience managing both direct marketing and channel strategy to indirectly influence customer behavior.
Experience managing cross-functional teams to achieve marketing objectives, including data/analytics, product, etc.
Bachelor’s Degree is required
