Populous Inc is hiring: Midweight Wayfinding Designer in London

Populous is an award-winning, international design practice specialising in sport and entertainment venues that draw people and communities together for unforgettable experiences.We are looking for creative and flexible wayfinding designers. The principal responsibilities of this position will be the development of wayfinding strategies, the design of signs and sign families, and the implementation of these across sports and entertainment architecture and the built environment.As part of a multi-disciplinary team you will collaborate with other design disciplines in the studio to develop wayfinding strategies and sign families. Our role would suit designers with prior experience working in this field. This role would see the designer working with a mix of wayfinding strategists, industrial designers, graphic designers, and project architects. All the usual program knowledge required plus some user-centred design knowledge would be advantageous.ResponsibilitiesCollaboration with wayfinding, industrial and architectural design teamsDeveloping wayfinding strategiesDeveloping sign familiesApplying these strategies across wayfinding and signage schemesDoing design and project researchGenerating reports, drawings and documentationSkills and Experience Bachelors and/or Masters degree in a design related subjectRelevant experience in established agenciesWillingness to learnFlexible, collaborative and work well under pressureExperience in working wayfinding projects alongside architects and industrial designersGood knowledge of typography and graphic designGood knowledge of usability and user-centred designExperience working with design guidelinesGreat written, spoken and interpersonal communication skillsConfidence at presenting your work and ability to manage own project timingsAbility to work across multiple projectsProactive, collaborative and work well under pressureProficient in at least: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesignCAD, BIM, Rhino or similar skills are a big plusHow to apply:If you are interested in joining our expanding team, please "Apply".
