As a Product Designer (UX/UI) you will be responsible for design and development of engaging user experiences for a variety of applications. In this role you will conduct in-depth studies and evaluations to understand user interactions, focusing on aspects such as ease of use, perceived value, utility, and task efficiency. Your insights will translate user needs and business requirements into innovative features and functionalities for web and mobile platforms. You will create detailed process flows, wireframes, and prototypes to effectively conceptualize and communicate sophisticated design strategies at our Fort Worth, TX site. In this role a typical day will include:
- Conduct user research to discover insights, define user personas, and map user journeys to inform the design process.
- Build a variety of design artifacts, such as wireframes, task flows, screen mock-ups, and interactive prototypes, with a strong emphasis on intuitive user experience.
- Develop new product concepts, storyboards, detailed interaction designs, and screen flows, and prototypes to clearly articulate solutions.
- Conduct concept and usability testing to iteratively validate and improve solutions.
- Actively collaborate as part of an agile team to ensure designs are feasible and implemented accurately.
- Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions in alignment with the brand.
- Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs.
- Collaborate with key collaborators in co-creative workshops to promote alignment and develop innovative solutions.
- Track user experience metrics and report on the success of UX improvements.
- Mature our Design System through feedback and active contribution of know-how and components.

- Work closely with the design team to build consistent user experiences across multiple products.

- Ability to collaborate with collaborators and subject matter experts to comprehend detailed requirements and design comprehensive user experiences that fulfill user needs and vision.
- Show a passion for transforming complex concepts into user-friendly digital experiences that adhere to brand standards and improve user engagement.
- Apply human-centered design principles and conduct qualitative and quantitative research methods to develop a narrative that resonates with customers and partners.
- Experienced in developing and applying component-based design systems that enable scalability and consistency across different platforms and devices.
- Experience in applying leading design software and tools such as Figma, FigJam, Miro, Maze, Dovetail, Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, InDesign, Visio, etc., while being able to swiftly adapt to new tools as required.
- Excellent communicator and great teammate, able to work collaboratively with product managers, engineers, and other collaborators to deliver high-quality design solutions.
- Actively stays informed about the latest UI/UX trends, technologies, and standard methodologies to foster innovation within the design function.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc. +9 yrs; M.S. +2 yrs; PhD +0 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
- 5 Years of Relevant Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSc in Design, Computer Science or relevant field and 3 years of professional experience working as Digital Product Designer SaaS, life science or a fast-paced environment.
- A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability, and accessibility concerns.
- Expertise in standard UX software such as Figma and Dovetail and the like is a must. Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus.
