Position Overview
As a Graphic Designer, you will use your artistic and technical expertise to design and produce high-quality visual graphics for a variety of signage projects. This dual-role position includes working in both the computer room to create and prepare designs and the production room to oversee physical assembly. Key Responsibilities
Design Responsibilities
Design computer-generated graphics for cutting, printing, and application.
Interpret work orders and customer-provided files to produce creative and accurate designs.
Determine layout, size, type styles, and arrangements based on production requirements and design aesthetics.
Prepare proofs for customer approval and adjust designs based on feedback.
Maintain and organize a digital library of logos and artwork, ensuring compliance with copyright and brand standards.
Source images and graphics while adhering to usage requirements and quality standards.
Operate and maintain computers, plotters, and printers, ensuring optimal performance.
Perform file backups and archiving.
Production Responsibilities
Assemble signs using vinyl, printed media, and various substrates.
Prepare substrates by cutting, laminating, painting, and cleaning them for application.
Operate and maintain laminators, printers, and other production equipment.
Perform quality assurance checks before and after production, ensuring accurate and error-free output.
Assist with installation tasks as needed.
Minimize material waste and report inventory levels to management.
Collaborate with the sales and production teams to meet deadlines and exceed customer expectations.
Requirements
Experience: 2+ years in graphic design or a related field; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, design software, and large-format printers.
Skills: Strong eye for design, layout, and typography; experience with vinyl cutting, weeding, and application techniques.
Physical Ability: Ability to sit for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot design and production challenges creatively and efficiently.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with team members and interacting with clients.
