As a Floral Designer, you will be responsible for designing and creating stunning arrangements for a variety of occasions including weddings, sympathy, events, and everyday orders. Your work will directly impact our broad and diverse customer base, giving you a chance to express your creativity while providing clients with personalized, beautiful floral designs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Floral Design:

  • Create custom floral arrangements for a variety of occasions, including weddings, funerals, special events, corporate clients, and everyday orders.
  • Work with a wide range of flowers and greenery, using knowledge of color, texture, and design principles to create visually striking arrangements.
  • Adapt designs based on seasonal availability and customer preferences.
  • Stay current with industry trends, new floral techniques, and design styles to ensure a diverse range of offerings.

• Customer Service:

  • Provide outstanding customer service by understanding client needs, offering design suggestions, and ensuring that the final product exceeds expectations.
  • Interact with customers over the phone, in person, and via email to take orders, discuss preferences, and provide consultations.
  • Build long-term relationships with customers and encourage repeat business.

• Flower Care & Management:

  • Manage inventory of flowers and supplies, ensuring proper care and maintenance to preserve freshness and quality.
  • Oversee flower processing, hydration, and storage to maintain optimal quality of blooms.
  • Assist with flower deliveries and preparations for large-scale events, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment.

• Collaboration & Creativity:

  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure designs align with the shop’s creative vision and standards.
  • Have input in developing new design concepts and seasonal offerings to keep the product line fresh and exciting.
  • Provide creative solutions and suggestions for customers who are uncertain about what they want, enhancing their floral experience.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Floral Design Expertise:

  • Proven experience as a floral designer with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of designs (weddings, sympathy, corporate, events, etc.).
  • Familiarity with design principles, techniques, and the ability to adapt designs based on customer requests and flower availability.

• Flower Care & Processing Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of flower care, processing, and storage to ensure longevity and freshness.

• Exceptional Organizational Skills:

  • Ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines simultaneously with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Customer Service Excellence:

  • A positive and customer-focused attitude, with excellent communication skills (in person, over the phone, and via email).
  • Experience with problem-solving and handling special requests in a professional manner.

• Team Player:

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of designers and staff to achieve the shop's goals.

• Flexibility & Adaptability:

  • Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed to accommodate customer demand.

• Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderately heavy flower boxes and materials.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Creative Vision:

  • Strong sense of artistic style, with an ability to envision and create unique designs based on client preferences.

• Event Experience:

  • Previous experience working on large-scale events or weddings, with the ability to plan and execute complex floral arrangements.

• Technology Skills:

  • Familiarity with POS systems and floral design software is a plus.
