Other responsibilities include the creation and maintenance of 3D CAD models and documentation, design analysis, material research, prototype design, building and testing, design of gages and fixtures, manufacturing support and interface with the product development team.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:Design/Development of medical products and product improvementsCreation and maintenance of 3D CAD models, assemblies, and printsManagement and use of CAD data management toolsCompliance to the AtriCure Quality System and company policiesPerforming engineering analyses such as:Mechanism design and analysisPart fit and tolerance analysisMaterials selectionDesign for manufacturability validationCollaborate with suppliers in the design and procurement of development componentsSupporting manufacturing validationFacilitating the creation of design standard practices within the companyADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIO N:Regular and predictable work performanceAbility to work under fast-paced conditionsAbility to make decisions and use good judgementAbility to prioritize various duties and multitask as requiredAbility to successfully work with othersAdditional duties as assignedBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:AS degree in Mechanical Design, Engineering Drafting, or equivalentBasic understanding of mechanics and dynamicsDemonstrated creativity and proficiency in design of complex mechanisms and assemblies2 years of experience in advanced modeling and document creation using Solidworks CADProficiency in advanced GD&T and tolerance analysisProficiency in material selection and associated manufacturing processesKnowledge of general prototyping and manufacturing technologies, including:3D printingInjection molding processesLow to medium volume manufacturing processesStrong computer/data entry, report writing, and verbal communication skillsProblem solving/trouble shooting experienceAbility to read and understand technical specifications and drawingsAbility to travel 10%PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in a technical field of study5 years of experience in advanced modeling and document creation using Solidworks CADAdvanced knowledge in materials selectionAdvanced knowledge in GD&T and tolerance analysisExperience in design of complex medical device assembliesExperience collaborating with suppliers in the design and procurement of development componentsExperience in performing stress analyses with finite element analysis toolsExpertise in general prototyping manufacturing technologiesExperience with Adobe Illustrator in document creationExperience with inspection/testing and data analysisHuman Factors and Industrial Design experienceOTHER REQUIREMENTS :Ability to regularly walk, sit, or stand as neededAbility to occasionally bend and push/pull as neededAbility to regularly lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift over 25 poundsAbility to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check#LI-RD1AtriCure has a variety of benefits available for US based employees and their families.
