What you will do

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Engineering Team as we are actively recruiting for a Configured Products Designer. The Designer is responsible for ensuring the successful completion of customer design/configuration requests, as well as the implementation and validation testing of new products, and maintenance of existing products.  Products will include Resistance Spot Guns, SoftMount Guns, RevTec, OHMA Presses, PedTec and KapTec.

What we’re looking for

  • Configure and/or customize products to suit customer application needs
  • Design and develop new configurable products to create / improve / enhance customer value
  • Identify and develop product performance and integration specifications
  • Manage and/or conduct prototype testing and various other design validation methods
  • Maintenance of existing configurable products to improve process and manufacturing efficiencies
  • Stress and deflection analysis through various means such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Execution of engineering calculations such as static and dynamic load application
  • Support the team to develop and communicate product training materials to internal and external customers

What you need to succeed

  • Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma, or equivalent trade experience required
  • Previous machine design and/or machine build experience desirable
  • FEA modelling, set up, and interpretation experience preferred
  • Controls / electrical design knowledge an asset
  • CAD modelling software experience an asset (Autodesk, inventor)
