This role also involves acting as an editor-in-chief for the Salesforce newsroom, crafting and editing important product communications, and elevating the overall quality of written work across our team. The VP, Executive Communications will work closely with senior leadership, including the C-suite, to develop narratives for engagement with key stakeholders, including employees, investors, customers, media, and industry influencers.Responsibilities:Strategic Communication PlanningDevelop and implement comprehensive communication narratives that ensure stakeholders understand our strategy, market positioning and product differentiation.
Craft and refine key messages, scripts, presentations, and other communication materials for the CEO and other top executives.
Work with Marketing and PR teams to align messaging and ensure high-quality output.
Executive Thought LeadershipPosition the CEO and other senior executives as thought leaders in the tech industry by creating insightful, forward-looking content, including scripts, op-eds, whitepapers, and keynote addresses.
Monitor industry trends and news to proactively identify opportunities for executives to contribute to relevant conversations and debates.
Editorial LeadershipDevelop and implement a comprehensive editorial strategy that aligns with our pioneering role in enterprise cloud computing and AI, and supports our market positioning and business goals.
Establish and maintain the editorial vision, ensuring our content is a premier resource for a wide range of stakeholders, spanning from Salesforce Admins to CIOs, highlighting key trends and innovations in enterprise technology.
Stay informed on industry developments to maintain and extend our leadership position, ensuring our editorial content effectively educates and engages our audience on topics related to our products and values.
Collaboration and LeadershipWork cross-functionally with marketing, investor relations, HR, and legal teams to ensure alignment of executive communications with broader company initiatives.
Elevate writing quality across team through direct engagement, guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
Use data and analytics to evolve the impact of executive communications initiatives.
Qualifications:10+ years of experience in journalism, executive communications, corporate communications, or public relations
Proven track record of developing and executing successful communication strategies for C-level executives.
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear, compelling messages.
Excellent understanding of the tech industry, including trends, challenges, and opportunities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines with ease.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
High level of professionalism, discretion, and emotional intelligence, particularly when handling sensitive or confidential information. confidential information.
