We are seeking a visionary Director of Digital Experience Design to lead our digital transformation at Carl Zeiss Research Microscopy Solutions. This strategic role will be responsible for defining and executing a comprehensive digital experience strategy that enhances customer engagement and strengthens our brand across academic and industrial B2B markets. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in leading cross-functional teams, driving innovation, and creating impactful user-centered design solutions that align with our business objectives. What's the role? Key Metrics and KPIs of this position: Digital Engagement Metrics: Drive increases in user engagement rates and overall digital interaction across platforms. Lead Generation: Achieve targets for qualified digital leads generated through optimized digital strategies. Content Strategy: Oversee the effective development and optimization of digital content for the ZEISS Microscopy website. Audience Development: Expand and engage target audiences within the ZEISS Customer Data Platform (CDP) to maximize reach and impact. Sound Interesting? Here's what you'll do: Strategic Leadership: Define and implement the strategic vision for user-centered digital experiences, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and customer needs. Establish and lead a high-performing Digital Experience Design team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Customer Experience Optimization: Drive the design and optimization of end-to-end customer experiences across all digital touchpoints, ensuring efficiency, engagement, and measurable value. Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to integrate digital solutions seamlessly into our microscopy offerings, enhancing customer interactions and satisfaction. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with executive leadership and business development to ensure that digital initiatives support strategic goals, market expansion, and revenue growth. Leverage insights from market research, customer feedback, and analytics to inform design strategies and enhance decision-making processes. Brand Management and Consistency: Ensure that all digital experiences reflect the company's brand identity and messaging, maintaining a consistent visual and experiential narrative across platforms. Lead initiatives to enhance brand presence and equity through innovative digital strategies that resonate with our target audiences. Innovation and Digital Transformation: Champion the integration of emerging technologies and design methodologies to enhance the effectiveness of our digital experiences. Stay informed about industry trends, competitor strategies, and best practices in digital design, bringing innovative ideas and approaches to the organization. Do you qualify? Education: Bachelor's degree in Digital Design, User Experience Design, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, or a related field. Master's degree in a relevant field is highly preferred. Experience: 15 years of experience in digital experience design with a strong focus on leading service, product, and brand design initiatives in B2B environments. Proven experience in a leadership role managing multidisciplinary teams and driving digital transformation efforts within technology, life sciences, or related sectors. Extensive track record of developing and executing comprehensive digital strategies that deliver measurable business results. Skills and Competencies: Exceptional portfolio demonstrating strategic leadership in digital product, service, and brand design with a focus on creating impactful customer experiences. Proficient in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools, with a strong understanding of design systems and user-centered design principles. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and design strategies. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of articulating vision, design rationale, and strategy to diverse stakeholders, including senior leadership. Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong organizational and leadership skills. The annual pay range for this position is $160,000 - $200,000. The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
