Assistant Opinion / Features Editor Location: dmg::media Head Office - New York, NY 10003 Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 depending on experience Position: Permanent DailyMail.com is seeking an assistant editor on the Opinion/Features desk to join the growing team in our New York City office. This is an in-office position and a 9-hour shift Monday to Friday but applicants must be willing to work flexible hours and shifts as news arises. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Pitching opinion and feature ideas daily Composing briefs for opinion and feature writers Editing under tight deadlines Restructuring articles Researching article ideas Fact-checking drafts of opinion and feature articles Legalling articles and working on sourcing with reporters Working with photo editors to create images to illustrate articles Building articles in a content management system We are seeking professionals with the following experience: At least 2 years working as an editor at a newspaper, news website, magazine or television news show Understanding of the DailyMail.com brand, editorial voice and audience Knowledge of online research tools Dailymail.com operates a 24/7 newsroom, and all shifts are expected to be worked from the office. Applicants must be willing to work flexible hours.
