Job Description
JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Mechanical Designer will perform mechanical design services with minimal supervision of the Lead Mechanical Designer. The Senior Mechanical Designer will manage small to medium size projects and support the development of fellow engineering and project teammates.
This role will report to the Lead Mechanical Designer.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- None.
GENERAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILTIES
- Deliver work products for assigned activities within the scope, schedule, and budget relevant to assigned projects.
- Ensure adherence to applicable codes and standards as appropriate to assignments and projects.
- Utilize advanced knowledge to ensure adherence to relevant DOT 49 CFR 193 and NFPA 59a regulations.
- Ensure adherence to Lisbon quality, ethics, communication, time tracking, policies, and procedures as delineated in Lisbon Group training and policy documents.
- Effectively interface with other engineering disciplines and design teams to ensure the quality of work and consistent technical content for all design documents/data throughout the project.
- Deliver design drawings including:
- Process flow diagrams (PFD’s)
- Intelligent piping instrumentation diagrams (PID's)
- Intelligent CAD-based 3D models through conceptual, FEED, and detailed design phases
- Standard template and custom equipment modeling
- Provide guidance and contribute to the development of junior designers, while ensuring the quality of their work and supporting engineering team requirements.
- Leverage advanced technical expertise to complete design assignments, solve complex technical problems, and deliver project outcomes with minimal guidance from the management team.
- Ability to develop and review designs and drawings in accordance with The Lisbon Group and other industry codes and standards including, assigning tasks and overseeing the work of junior personnel.
- Exhibit qualities of a life-long learner, including adherence to continuing education (CEU) requirements.
- Attend and represent mechanical design engineering discipline in multi-disciplinary, project, and client coordination meetings.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with the project management team, providing regular progress updates and schedule reports.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Experience in engineering contracting and EPC project execution (preferred)
- Proven ability and interest in generating, checking and approving the core design deliverables described above in a timely and professional manner (required)
- A proven ability to guide, coach and support the development of mechanical designers from junior to senior levels (required).
- Field experience in construction, commissioning, start-up, and operational support (beneficial)
- A high level of proficiency with AutoCAD Plant 3D and Navisworks for modeling, layouts, equipment and structural components while adhering to provided specifications.
- A strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and project managers.
- Proficient in the development, maintenance and utilization of Navisworks models.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (required)
- International experience (beneficial)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify challenges and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associate degree in a related technical discipline or field, with relevant work experience.
- A minimum of 10 years related mechanical design engineering experience.
- Prior experience with an engineering contractor in offshore and onshore upstream and midstream projects (preferred).
- A proven ability in full project life-cycle delivery (2D and 3D) from PFD, PID, through mechanical 3D deliverables.
- Ability to develop 3D models from 3D scan and point cloud.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This role is performed in a professional office environment.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.
- Ability to travel to job sites as assigned for data acquisition.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to travel to various job sites and locations and obtain necessary data and conduct thorough site visits.
WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS
- Current authorization to work within the United States is required. Immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided.
- Current or ability to obtain a TWIC card (beneficial)
