Assistant Director of the Writing Center

Requirements:
* M.A. in English or equivalent.
* At least 2 years experience teaching college writing.
* At least 2 years experience working in a college writing center.
* Experience working with graduate student writers in the health sciences.
* Knowledge of writing and writing center pedagogy.
* Knowledge of/experience with alternative learning deliveries (i.e., online synchronous, online asynchronous, and in-person writing support).
* Experience with a variety of citation styles and style manuals (including APA, MLA, and AMA).
* Experience with Google Suite, data collection, and record-keeping.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrated success working with diverse students and faculty.
* Ability to work up to 20 hours per week, on a regular schedule that meets the demands of the Center/writers' needs.
Key Responsibilities & Job Duties:
* Provide writing and critical thinking support to students enrolled at CSS, with special emphasis on distance students in graduate programs.
* Assist with the Center's logistics, including supporting and mentoring of student employees and promotion of Center's services.
* Meet with classes, particularly graduate classes, at the request of the professor to assist with writing skills.
* Assist with projects to build the Writing Center.
* Oversee special projects as assigned from the Director.
* Maintain records and assist with evaluation.
* Exhibit effective verbal and written intercultural communication skills.
* Provide feedback asynchronously to student writers within 48-72 hours.
* Assist the Director in the development of the Writing Center's website, policies, and procedures.
