The product design team at Workato is embarking on an exciting new chapter. We're launching an innovative AI product that will push the boundaries of human-AI interaction. We're seeking a Senior Designer who has shipped exceptional consumer web and mobile applications and is energized by the challenge of crafting novel AI experiences from the ground up.
The product design team at Workato is a tight-knit, collaborative team with a relentless focus on building the best experience for our users. We work fast, are biased toward action, and aren't afraid to fail. Above all, we believe that enterprise UX should have the same usability, reliability, and delight that we have come to expect from consumer apps. We seek experienced UX designers with proven experience crafting consumer-grade experiences and want to bring that same level of polish and sophistication to Enterprise AI interfaces.
You'll work with a passionate group of researchers, designers, product managers, ML engineers, front and backend engineers, QA and technical writers on this new initiative. You'll use your full range of product, interaction, and visual design skills to shape transformative AI experiences from the ground up.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Understanding the scope of requirements and questioning assumptions while working with the team to better understand user behaviors and needsOrganizing and leading projects, ensuring stakeholders' expectations are being addressed while keeping them aligned throughout the projectTranslating ideas into viable, quality solutions using the appropriate tooling and fidelity based on the project's state. This can range from low-fidelity drawings to detailed, precise specifications for the UI teamDefining user journeys and task flows for the project when requiredChoosing appropriate design patterns and having a strong justification for your choicesUse tools like Figma or CodePen to prototype your ideas and test the micro-interactions in the product experienceApproaching your work with a system and scalability mindset. Always be curious to learn how a design can complement or conflict with other parts of the productWriting clear, concise product copy for your projectsRequirementsQualifications / Experience / Technical SkillsGraduates with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in HCI, Human factors, UX, New Media or Design, and 5+ years of experience. Or self-taught designers with 5+ years of experience shipping complex productsStrong portfolio demonstrating successful consumer web and mobile applications that have been shipped to productionTrack record of designing consumer-grade products with a focus on simplicity and delightDeep understanding of both web and mobile design patterns, constraints, and opportunitiesUnderstanding of WCAG guidelines and accessibility best practicesExperience contributing and enhancing design systemsA refined aesthetic sense to work within and expand upon Workato's styleAbility to present, justify and defend your design decisions to stakeholdersExperience with motion design, or HTML, CSS, JS and other front-end technologies, is a big plusExperience designing AI products or features is highly valuedSoft Skills / Personal CharacteristicsStrong consumer product sensibility with an eye for detail and polishEmbraces ambiguous scenarios while acting like an owner in a fast-paced environmentContinuously learn about and improve your craft while staying updated on the latest design trends and patterns and effectively assessing their impact when applying them to your design solutionsOpen to giving and receiving constructive criticism and feedbackCapable of delivering high-quality results quicklyExcitement about defining new paradigms for human-AI interaction
For California applicants, the pay for this role begins at $135,000 (and can go up based on the experience), plus benefits, perks, and equity.
