Job Purpose:

" To turn emotions into memories ", by producing "production-ready" art, as requested by customers, that meets or exceeds their expectations. To produce accurate subsurface files in a manner that meets or beats deadlines.

Job Duties and Responsibilities- The Subsurface Artist will be successful by fulfilling the following job responsibilities competencies and values.

Prepare "Production-ready" art, as requested by customers which meets or exceeds their expectationsUtilize 3d Studio Max, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to adjust customer supplied artwork to fit within established art specificationsUsed Illustrator, Photoshop, 3d Studio Max and Vitro RIP software to accurately create production-ready clouds to be used in the next stage of production Balance customer needs and production limitations in adjusting and creating artwork, ideas, and conceptsBalance customer needs and production limitations in adjusting and creating artwork, ideas and conceptsUse Adobe software to produce high-quality, accurately colored artwork for our color production processes, (Sublimation, Illumachrome, Illumachrome Splash, Virtual Samples)Use Vitro Software to produce high-quality laser-ready artworkSupport the Crystal D "Incredible Customer Experience" (ICE) program

Anticipate the artistic and creative needs of customers' projects and orders that will enhance the customer experienceBe timely in responding to customer questions and reservations about necessary adjustments to customer artwork, ideas, and conceptsCommunicate with Sales and Customer Service to provide artwork quotes and information for pre-order projectsProvide and facilitate the sharing of feedback between team members to determine ways of improving the customer experienceProvide creative and viable solutions to any art-related problems that may arise

Collaborate with other Crystal D team members in the development of custom products and marketing projects.Proactively communicate any and all artistic possibilities and limitations regarding custom products and customer art during developmentContribute creative & accurate artwork for use in our catalog and other marketing projectsPerforms other work as assignedProactively anticipate the workload of other Subsurface team members, and assist them to ensure all subsurface department responsibilities are met, on a daily basisMaintain a process of continuous improvement in all subsurface department practices and proceduresFollow all Crystal D safety guidelines and practicesPerform other work as assigned without compromising existing responsibilities

Qualification and Skill Requirements

Prior Experience :

This position requires more than 1 year of experience in a visual or graphic design production artist position.

Knowledge Requirements

To be effective, this position requires specific knowledge of desk-top publishing and graphic design, as well as 3D modeling and 3D printing. Knowledge is normally acquired through college, vocational, or technical school training, resulting in an Associates Degree or equivalent.

Work Demands - In-office only

This position requires moderate work hours beyond the normal workday, based on the demands of the business cycle, customer volume of business, and specific sales efforts underway. It has a high demand for tight deadlines and immediacy in providing solutions and answers. This position entails work of a highly seasonal or cyclical nature. It contains work of a very precise nature. It requires a high level of concentration over an extended period of time. This position will experience moderate interruption in work flow. Travel is not required.

This position usually works for eight (8) hours during the period of 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. However, hours of work are flexible and will fluctuate based on the needs of the business and the customers. The job may require 5-15 hours per week of work beyond the normal work schedule depending on work demands. The work hours can vary depending on customer requirements.

Technical Skills

Has extensive knowledge and experience in working with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, 3DS Max.Has a "working" knowledge of personal computer operation.Has a "working" knowledge of current Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Excel and Word.Uses processes and technology to improve the quality and efficiency of service or production; follows processes well, applies training effectively.Can maintain and grow technical knowledge and expertise. Can be accurate, precise and pay attention to detail.Can read and write at a high school level.Understands and can-do basic math.Salary

$19/hour
