The American Society of Nephrology (ASN) – which represents more than 21,000 physicians, researchers, nurses, and other health professionals dedicated to creating a world without kidney diseases—seeks a fulltime Marketing Manager.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Marketing Manager will manage the day-to-day operations of the marketing and communications team, including the development and execution of all campaigns and integrated marketing strategies for the organization’s programs, events, and initiatives.

In this role, the Marketing Manager will work closely with the marketing team to execute campaigns and ensure all promotions advance the mission and goals of ASN’s programs, events, and initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have experience developing and implementing multichannel marketing campaigns while ensuring that campaign content remains relevant and original.

The Marketing Manager should be equally proficient with day-to-day marketing activities and long-term strategy formation, and perform well under tight deadlines to meet the organization’s changing needs.

Qualified candidates will have experience in the following areas: Marketing Operations and Strategy – Conceptualize and execute multichannel marketing campaigns focusing on targeted audiences, segmentation strategies, marketing research, and brand implementation.

Stakeholder Management – Work across the organization to serve as an internal marketing advisor to help prioritize and deliver against the needs of the department and team while managing external relationships to expand the reach of the organization.

Campaign Development and Implementation – Lead the development of creative and innovative campaigns with a focus on the complete user journey.

Content Strategy and Development – Manage the content strategy and content development, including reviews and approvals for campaign tactics such as email copy, testimonials, social media posts, direct mail pieces, and/or additional marketing materials to support the strategic marketing plan.

Data and Analytics – Develop data-driven reports to optimize campaigns, establish benchmarks, and provide clearly defined recommendations for ongoing and future strategies.

Collaboration – Work across multiple teams, including managing external partners and volunteers to ensure marketing efforts align with marketing plans and campaigns.

Marketing Trends and Insights – Remain current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive creativity within the department.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, English, Public Relations, or a related field 7+ years of related experience in marketing or communications, with a focus on member-based organizations and/or mission-based marketing

A minimum of one year of supervising marketing and communications staff Demonstrated ability to develop and execute integrated marketing strategies and campaigns, including multiple campaigns simultaneously Intimate understanding of traditional and emerging marketing channels, including experience with paid media campaigns

Experience using Association Management System (AMS) software, including Customer Relationship Management (CRM).

Experience with NetFORUM is preferred.

Experience using broadcast email software.

Experience with Higher Logic RealMagnet/MagnetMail is preferred.

Proficiency in using project management software to organize and execute projects.

Experience with Monday.com is preferred.

Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal skills

Collaborative style to work effectively with volunteer members, leaders, colleagues, and other departments.

Strong project management skills, with attention to detail and follow-through skills Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven department, managing multiple tasks and changing priorities.

Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

This position is based in Washington, DC, where we employ a hybrid work environment (80 days per year in the office required).
