Job Description
Creative Space Coordinator
We are seeking a resourceful and enthusiastic individual to launch our brand-new makerspace and media lab, The Canvas. As the inaugural Creative Space Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of this innovative space. You will be responsible for providing expert guidance, training, and support to patrons and staff and fostering a vibrant and inclusive community. You will also play a key role in developing and coordinating engaging programs that inspire creativity. Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the daily operations of The Canvas.
- Providing excellent customer service and comprehensive training and assistance to patrons of all skill levels.
- Coordinating programming and instruction in The Canvas including determining operating hours and staffing needs, creating classes and programs for patrons, scheduling appointments for use of equipment, providing one-on-one instruction, and responding to drop-in questions.
- Purchasing equipment and supplies necessary to run The Canvas. Maintaining storage and inventory and purchasing new equipment and supplies as needed.
- Writing procedures and guidelines for Canvas equipment.
- Maintaining and troubleshooting Canvas equipment including sewing and embroidery machines, heat presses, sublimation printers, die-cutting machines, laser cutters, 3D printers, digitization equipment and more.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or demonstrated equivalent experience.
Two years of experience in a makerspace position.
Available to work evenings and weekends.
Hours:
This is a full-time, non-exempt, 37.5 hour position. Your hours will be variable and include evenings and weekends.
Starting Salary: $40,970-$50,388 annually ($20.80-25.58 hour) depending on qualifications
