About the National Constitution Center
The National Constitution Center is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization devoted to teaching about the Constitution. Located on Philadelphia's historic Independence Mall, steps from where the Constitution was drafted and signed, it serves as America's leading platform for constitutional education and debate, fulfilling its congressional charter "to disseminate information about the U.S. Constitution on a nonpartisan basis in order to increase awareness and understanding of the Constitution among the American people."
Position Summary
The Graphic Designer position will join the Marketing and Communications team creating compelling designs for both institutional-wide digital and print collateral. The Designer produces a wide range of creative collateral for the Center, and works with every department to help further the departmental goals and institutional vision. During this period of work, outside of designer's role day to day, they will assist the Exhibits team as needed in the production of files for current exhibit installations and other in-house exhibit needs. The graphic designer will work closely with the Senior Designer to communicate effectively with colleagues, produce quality work, and execute under tight deadlines.
This is a hybrid position. While in-office work is required, remote work opportunities are available.
Responsibilities and Duties Design a full range of thoughtful and engaging print and digital collateral, managing projects from concept through production. Work included, but is not limited to, email and web graphic layout and design, brochures, posters, calendars, ad campaigns, logos, lesson plans, invitations, student guides, signage, presentations etc. Collaborate with diverse teams on multiple projects concurrently Keep all teams informed of the current status of all jobs in progress Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors from cost estimation to production Perform other duties as assigned Please note that the Center may change specific job duties with or without prior notice based on the needs of the organization Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required from an accredited college or university At least 3 years of design experience Portfolio with recent samples of completed projects, sketches, concepts, and project management tools Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft Office Ability to work weekends, evening hours, or holidays as needed and assigned Physical Demands
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer Standing and walking may be required on an infrequent basis Some light lifting, twenty (20) pounds or less, may be required on an infrequent basis During graphic installs, it may be required to work in a kneeling, stooping, bending, or prone position for a prolonged period of time.
Salary
The starting salary for this position is $50,000 per year. However, compensation may be higher based on the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, and skills.
