Overview: GameStop is seeking a strategic and creative
Investor Relations/Public Relations Manager. Investor Relations (IR):
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all financial disclosures comply with regulatory requirements, including SEC filings (e.g., 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) and stock exchange rules. Monitor and implement compliance with corporate governance regulations. Oversee adherence to insider trading laws and ensure timely filing of required notices. Communication of Financial Information: Prepare and distribute accurate and compliant quarterly earnings releases. Act as a key liaison between the company and investors to address inquiries while adhering to regulatory disclosure standards. Market Monitoring and Feedback: Analyze market trends and shareholder feedback to inform executive management. Conduct competitor benchmarking and evaluate shareholder voting trends. Annual and Special Meeting Preparation: Analyze market trends and shareholder feedback to inform executive management. Conduct competitor benchmarking and evaluate shareholder voting trends.
Public Relations (PR):
Regulatory Messaging: Develop compliant press releases, media statements, and corporate announcements. Ensure public disclosures align with legal and regulatory standards. Crisis Communication Management: Handle media relations during regulatory investigations or litigation. Mitigate reputational risk by ensuring accurate and timely communication in crisis situations. Policy and Reputation Management: Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting public messaging. Collaborate with legal teams to craft public responses to legal or regulatory issues. Stakeholder Communication: Engage with external stakeholders, including journalists, analysts, and regulators, ensuring consistent messaging. Coordinate with internal departments to ensure unified communications strategies. General Responsibilities:
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the legal, compliance, and finance teams to ensure integrated communication strategies. Advise senior leadership on potential regulatory or reputational risks. Training and Guidance: Provide training to executives and staff on regulatory communication standards and public relations best practices. Develop internal guidelines for investor and public relations activities within the scope of legal and regulatory frameworks. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term strategies for investor relations and public relations with a focus on compliance. Evaluate and update policies in response to evolving regulatory and legal requirements. By combining regulatory expertise with strong communication skills, a candidate in this role ensures that the organization maintains its reputation and complies with all legal obligations in investor and public relations activities. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field. 6+ years of experience in investor relations, financial communications, public media relations in the retail or consumer goods sector. Ability to build relationships with media, stakeholders, and team members. Deep understanding of financial statements, capital markets, and valuation methodologies. Proven experience building relationships with institutional investors and financial analysts. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and investor relations tools such as Bloomberg, FactSet, or Nasdaq IR Insight. Exceptional organizational and project management skills with attention to detail. High integrity, professionalism, and a collaborative mindset.
