Responsible for the design and planning of building projects through all stages of design and construction, working at our office in Atlanta, Georgia under the supervision of a licensed architect. Details of the job duties are as follows:Schematic Design Phase: Work in collaboration with and under the direction and supervision of Associate and Principal level design architects to develop architectural drawings, renderings, and three-dimensional models to illustrate concepts and schematic design drawings for presentation to project owners, community stakeholders & officials with jurisdiction over projects. Project types include high rise multi-family residential buildings, mixed-use, hotels and resorts, cultural, educational, and other commercial design projects of the company. Prepare illustrations and design presentations utilizing the firm’s specialized software products, including AutoCAD, Revit, Enscape, Sketchup & Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, InDesign & Illustrator); Illustrations & presentations will include static images and animations.Design Development and Construction Documentation Phase: Work in collaboration with and under the direction of Associate and Principal level Project Managers to prepare detailed drawings for construction of building projects. Develop life safety drawings, permit drawings and construction documentation showcasing the aesthetic and functional requirements of the design through production of detailed briefs for construction, detailed construction drawings and detailed scale plans for foundations and structures based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets, and other data in the construction documentation phase. Conduct site visits to obtain and assemble contextual data required to complete architectural drawings. Research and understand building codes and ordinances which apply to specific projects, analyze local codes, by-laws, space and site requirements and other technical documents; Coordinate the work with engineers & other specialty consultants providing design input on projects; Research materials, construction methods, and building systems data; and coordinate with our specifications writing department in development of the Project Manual and details for the project Construction Documents.Construction Phase: Review submittals and shop drawings required to complete installation of building systems and equipment to ensure building compliance with design specifications and advise on design corrections & alternatives; Assist Associate and Principal level Project Managers and Contract Administrators with documentation and record keeping associated with the company’s site observation services and respond to contractor request for information.JOB REQUIREMENTS:At least a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture plus minimum six (6) months of post-baccalaureate experience working as an Architectural designer, Intern Architect, or similar positions in an Architectural firm. Foreign degree equivalent is acceptable.
