A Port Marketing Manager promotes increased use of Port of Los Angeles facilities, solicits business from steamship companies, railroads, truck lines, shippers, importers, manufacturers, producers, and shippers of bulk commodities; represents the Port before chambers of commerce, trade organizations and other business and governmental groups locally, nationally and internationally; investigates terminal operational problems; and conducts studies of pricing problems and recommends changes in Port of Los Angeles tariffs.
REQUIREMENT(S)/MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S)
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university;
and Two years of full-time paid experience in logistics management;
or
marine terminal management;
or
port policy and program engagement with marine terminals and other supply chain stakeholders;
or
solicitation for a shipping business such as: a land transportation company, a third-party logistics provider, a freight forwarder/customs broker, and/or a shipping line or port. One additional year of the above experience may be substituted for each year of the required education lacking.

A valid California driver's license is required at the time of appointment. Upon appointment, a Port Marketing Manager will be required to furnish an automobile, properly insured, for use in City service.
