Sr. Manager, Communications Planning & Performance - Chicago or Decatur, IL

In this role, you will be a strategic advisor to our global team leaders and get a front-row view of the operations of a global communication organization. Play a key role in maximizing the value of the team, shaping our team culture, and enabling efficient and effective communications across the company and with our stakeholders, as the Manager, Communications Planning & Performance, at ADM.
Key Responsibilities Develop, advance and monitor team strategy and goals in collaboration with the Communications leadership team Develop budget plans with team leaders and liaise with Finance, Procurement, Global Business Services and others to carry out budget plan, including centralized finance management in North America Analyze current operational processes and performance, recommending and implementing solutions for maximum efficiency and productivity; plan, monitor and analyze key metrics for operational efficiency Develop and oversee team engagement efforts and talent management, including onboarding, meeting strategy, capability building and performance management Serve as subject matter expert in process improvement and change management Qualities: We are looking for someone who is a collaborative, resourceful and detail-oriented communicator, who:
Has organizational savvy, can maintain confidentiality and is good navigating people and priorities with an attention to detail and follow-up; Is a hands-on problem solver that is resourceful and proactive, with a continuous improvement mindset and a positive attitude; and Has excellent communication and listening skills, with emphasis on communicating with communicators. Qualifications:
Prior experience in a global communication organization, particularly in the areas of project management and change management. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with knowledge of how to tailor formal and informal communications effectively for different audiences. Above-average proficiency in Microsoft Office products, such as SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. Experience with Power Automate, Coupa, LinkedIn Learning and Adobe products, a plus. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated commitment to providing high-quality client service. More Information about Day-to-Day Scope This role partners with the VP, Global Communications, and works directly with the Global Communications leadership team in four primary areas: strategy advancement, financial stewardship, operational efficiency, and team engagement and coordination.
Strategy Advancement
Quarterly team reporting on key organization priorities and strategy projects Annual strategy review and refresh Financial Stewardship
Annual budget planning Lead annual assessments of major suppliers and maintain major supplier data for use in Procurement processes Track team finances against budget in coordination with regional and Brand Experience teams; serve as liaison with Finance and Global Communications on budget forecasting and updates throughout the year Maintain and improve standards and job guides for supplier onboarding, purchasing processes and budget tracking Submit and track purchase orders and invoices and sponsorships for Global Comms, and support new supplier onboarding Operational Efficiency
Lead proactive Communications function operations, including maintaining a timeline for Comms leader actions, standard cycle for leader meeting agendas and timely reminders, as well as coordinating agendas and materials for leader meetings Review process for existing communications tech and tools (shared resources inventory); support resource improvement and new tool implementation Support relevant strategy projects, such as the project to embed and enhance core resources into our daily work Serve as owner of team operation resources, such as job guides, team meeting files, MS Teams site and org overview, as well as team planning and creation resources, such as communications planning templates Shepherd sponsorship requests through appropriate reviews in online system, provide guidance to colleagues on appropriate procedures, respond to stakeholder needs, prepare reports, and maintain related resources. Manage maintenance of client-facing resources (Comms Portal) Manage facts database submissions and site usage Manage translation strategy and support vendor relationship Engagement & Coordination
Lead team meeting management, including preparing agendas, materials and speakers, and measuring engagement Manage recognition in team meetings and recognition at milestones (ecards) Support leadership team with strategy and process for performance management (merit, 9-box, 360, monthly discussion) Create and maintain Career Pathways for Global Communications team Prepare and maintain Comms team guidance for goals and capability planning Maintain and improve standard team member onboarding materials Prepare and maintain communication capability programs Excited about this role but don't think you meet every requirement listed?
