INTRODUCTION TO ROLE Based in our Ocean City, Maryland headquarters, the VP of Marketing and Digital Strategy will lead a team of talented specialists and teams in the development and execution of strategic marketing plans to maximize revenues through marketing, brand development, e-commerce channels, public relations, and community partnerships. The VP of Marketing and Digital Strategy will serve as a key strategic partner to Operations alongside business leaders in Sales and Revenue Management.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR Creative, forward-thinking entrepreneur with strong leadership experience to oversee Blue Water's in-house marketing agency.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON The VP of Marketing and Digital Strategy is responsible for developing and executing successful marketing strategies across the Blue Water portfolio to support their respective top-line and revenue-generating goals and targets while adhering to brand standards. The VP of Marketing and Digital Strategy will carry out the company mission through the leadership of a dedicated and diverse team of marketing professionals and work in close partnership with Revenue Management and Operations. Provide strategic leadership and direction to the marketing organization, ensuring alignment with the company's mission and goals. Act as a senior advisor for partnerships and ownership on brand positioning and brand advancements. Drive overall digital marketing strategy for the assigned portfolio, including search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), and social presence (social reputation and social media). Strategically implement the utilization of systems, software, and tools to ensure the department stays at the forefront of digital marketing and revenue generation. Attends relevant industry conferences to stay on the cutting edge of hospitality marketing trends; Supervise and mentor a team of senior leaders, providing guidance and support in their respective areas of expertise. Develops and fosters a culture of entrepreneurial exploration to bring best-in-class marketing, digital, and business solutions that advance brand awareness, increase presence, and drive revenue growth. Ensure distribution strategy and strategic planning maximize revenue and profitability; Establishes and maintains relationships with all major marketing and distribution vendors and negotiates pricing. Leads in collaboration with operations the efforts to acquire and retain guests, optimize performance, and increase revenue. Leads efforts to utilize data and analytics to drive commercial strategy and performance objectives. Provides analysis and reporting of key marketing and digital performance indicators. Supports Revenue Management, sales, and operations regarding promotional and tactical marketing initiatives. Oversee and manage all strategies, people, objectives, and processes within the marketing division including Branding, Public Relations, Digital Marketing, tactical marketing, and production marketing. Oversee preparing and maintaining a current annual marketing plan with measurable and specific initiatives detailed to maintain and grow each business segment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and manage budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and accountability. Is responsible for development, management, and adherence to marketing budgets across the organization and properties. Act as liaison with public relations vendors to develop press releases and prepare information for media kits and other public relations issues. Provides guidance and direction on crisis management communication in partnership with operational partners. Lead and implement change management initiatives to drive organizational growth and efficiency. Is a "Brand Ambassador" at all times and ensures brand integrity and clarity are always maintained. Ensuring that all operations leaders embrace the Blue Water culture and drive all team members to be brand ambassadors. Successfully collaborate with project, construction, and operations management teams on all new builds, renovations, and expansions to ensure pre-opening sales and marketing strategies yield optimal results while staying on time and within budget. Responsible for the B2B marketing strategy and execution of Blue Water's Management Company and supports the commercialization efforts of its sister companies as needed. Responsible for the development and roll-out of any future B2C branding and marketing initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned. WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH The VP Of Marketing and Digital Strategy will have interaction and influence with the Blue Water executive team, will serve on the Senior Leadership Team, and will have direct communication with Property Owners and Asset Managers.
This role will collaborate with all departments to ensure seamless performance and operation of the company's owned and managed assets. Success in this role requires significant collaboration and partnership to ensure cohesive strategy development and execution at the management company and property level. This role will collaborate closely with industry partners, vendors, and other related stakeholders to execute business strategies. WHAT YOU BRING
Education: Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business, marketing, or related field. MBA preferred. In lieu of a degree, the candidate must have 10+ years in hospitality management. 5+ Years of progressive hospitality marketing, revenue, or commercial strategy; preferably in a management or leadership role Major Hotel/Hospitality Brand experience (e.g., Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Hyatt, KOA, Jellystone, etc.) Experience working with various property management and CRM systems Skills
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards achieving organizational objectives. Strong understanding and command of marketing, digital marketing, commercial strategy, revenue management, business development, and sales Highly analytical, understanding how to shape strategy based on data and metrics. Proven experience in project management, operations management, and process improvement. Excellent management skills with the ability to drive organizational transformation. Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities. Strong business acumen with a track record of successful business development initiatives. Proficient in budgeting, financial analysis, and resource allocation. High level of understanding of hospitality operations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to diverse stakeholders.
