Our luxury interior design firm is growing! We are looking for an experienced, talented, knowledgeable, and extremely organized
Senior Design Assistant
to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a pivotal role in executing exceptional and sophisticated interior design projects. Candidate must have a strong background in luxury interior design, possess exceptional organizational skills, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with designers, clients, and vendors. This position works closely with principal designer, Amanda Lantz. Thank you in advance for reviewing the list of responsibilities and qualifications:
Responsibilities:·
Project Oversight:
Work closely with the principal designer, project manager, and the design team to coordinate and oversee various aspects of high-volume design projects, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met. Assist in leading the design team and provide assistance to ensure deadlines are met.·
Professional Client Interaction:
Attend client meetings, take extensive notes, and communicate professionally with clients with the utmost attention to detail and client satisfaction.·
Material Sourcing and Selection:
Collaborate with vendors to source and select high-end materials, furniture, and accessories in alignment with project specifications and design vision.·
CAD Drafting:
Create detailed and accurate CAD drawings for projects, including floor plans, elevations, and detailed millwork drawings in addition to reviewing junior design assistant’s drawings to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with design intent.·
Space Planning:
Assist in space planning layout designs, ensuring optimal use of space while adhering to design principals and client requirements. Ensure all measurements are accurate.·
Documentation:
Prepare, organize, and manage project documentation, including but not limited to, mood boards, client notes, project schedules, and updating items progress in our firm’s software system: Studio Designer·
Team Collaboration:
Foster a collaborative and positive work environment by effectively liaising with designers, architects, builders, and other team members to ensure seamless project execution and to ensure design concepts can translate into functionality. This includes working with fellow team members to ensure success.·
Vendor Management:
Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors, suppliers, warehouse & delivery companies, and assist with negotiating terms and ensuring the highest quality standards.·
Work with minor oversight to perform assignments including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, and construction documentation·
Interact with architects and builders to get ahead of any foreseen challenges·
Actively participates in project installations·
Provide extensive and rapid-fire knowledge of vendors, materials, and resources·
Be wildly creative and push the boundaries!
Qualifications:·
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Design or related field·
Minimum of three years professional senior design experience·
Formulates designs which are practical, aesthetic, and conducive to intended purposes·
Advanced in AutoCAD·
Familiarity in REVIT·
Extremely verse in materials, surfaces, furniture systems and specifications·
Extremely knowledgeable with architectural details
·
Advanced in developing design concepts·
Background in using design software (we use Studio Designer)·
Able to develop or obtain external architectural and engineering resources·
Excellent time and people management, communication, collaboration, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at one time, in addition to working independently·
Ability to resolve complex design and communication issues·
Ability to accommodate some regional and national travel when needed·
Must provide work examples and/or portfolio when applying
Compensation and Benefits:Hours:
