Great American Professional Risk Insurance Services (GAPRIS)
provides specialized umbrella and excess liability coverages for medium to large-size companies in need of high coverage limits for casualty exposures by utilizing the varied capabilities within the Great American Insurance Group. We are looking for a Marketing and Underwriting Specialist to work a hybrid schedule from our Charlotte, NC office. The person in this role will be responsible for developing, growing, and maintaining a profitable book of excess casualty and umbrella business.
Responsibilities:
Analyzes financial and risk data of proposed insureds to identify hazards and exposures. Identify growth opportunities with key distribution partners. Determines appropriate recommendations subject to our management and underwriting guidelines. Ensures that effective business relationships with internal and external customers/coworkers are developed and maintained to attract and retain profitable business. Ensures the delivery, follow-up, and servicing requirements of all quotes on new and renewal accounts. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Prior underwriting experience in casualty, umbrella or excess lines is required. Must have experience establishing and building strong relationships with agents and brokers. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Position requires regular travel including overnight travel. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
