Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented GIS Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess
proficiency in ESRI
software and have a passion for utilizing geographic information systems to support utility operations and planning efforts. This position plays a crucial role in managing spatial data, analyzing geographic trends, and providing insights that enhance our decision-making processes. Key Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, and manage GIS datasets and databases using ESRI software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, etc.). Perform spatial analysis to support utility operations, including but not limited to load forecasting, asset management, and outage response. Create and update maps, reports, and visualizations to communicate spatial information effectively to stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver GIS solutions that meet business needs. Conduct quality control and assurance of GIS data to ensure accuracy and consistency. Assist in the development and implementation of GIS-related projects and initiatives. Provide training and support to staff in the use of GIS tools and applications. Stay current with advancements in GIS technology and best practices, recommending enhancements to existing processes. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geospatial Sciences, Environmental Science, or a related field. Proficiency in ESRI software (ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro). Experience with spatial data analysis, cartography, and GIS database management. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Familiarity with utility operations or electric distribution systems is a plus.
