General Position SummaryAWB is looking for an Apparel Designer to join our team and support the development of the highest-quality fashion products. This person will support all aspects of product development process, including assisting in designing and developing clothing and accessories, assisting with the development of tech packs, conducting market research, creating sketches and samples, and collaborating with the design team to bring creative concepts to life. The ideal candidate is fast paced, organized, detail oriented, and driven to create quality and innovative products straddling the worlds between streetwear, luxury fashion, and sportswear.
Job Responsibilities and DutiesCollaborates with the Design Director to research, develop and design collectionsResponsible for creating tech packs with detailed specifications that include construction details and trim/fabric information, graphic placement, and garment constructionUpdates line plans, sketches, BOMs, tech packs, etc. as necessaryHelps to manage the design process from initial sketch to productionWork within the development calendar to ensure deadlines are maintainedPrepare professional presentation boards with illustrations, CAD artwork, fabrication, and garment samplesExecute seasonal line list and meet product development calendar deadlinesConduct fittings with Design Director and Technical DesignWork with Production to maintain design concept throughout production process
Job RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design or a similar field3-5 years of design or product development experienceStrong knowledge of garment construction & fabricsMust be comfortable in working on all product categories: wovens, knits, and sweatersExperience developing and producing Tech PacksProficient in Adobe Photoshop and IllustratorStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionExperience working with sportswear brands preferred
