Job Description:You will be supporting the Commercial Services organization, contributing to the delivery of effective learning experiences for Owners and Operators that oversee Commercial and Operational strategy for their hotel(s) by ensuring successful production and execution of training. This may include self-paced online courses and virtual and in-person instructor-led courses. This role will connect across key functional disciplines to understand needs and requirements to support brand contribution. Responsibilities will include creation of content to educate above-property colleagues and General Managers who support hotel commercial leaders, communication and alignment to ensure adoption of best practices and key behaviors, and measurement of training saturation and impact, all while demonstrating a commitment to Empathy, Wellbeing, Inclusion and Experimentation, behaviors critical to Client’s culture.

This position would need to be well-versed in hotel sales, marketing, revenue, and events and understand it in the current state with the ability to apply that knowledge to the various needs and types of hotels. They would need to possess strong strategic, communication, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, and most importantly, have an affinity for teamwork to support collaboration across many divisions and functional departments. The ideal candidate understands how to build content that will engage learners and give them the ability to demonstrate they can execute what they have learned.

Your responsibilities will include:• Training Strategy & Content• Own the role/responsibility for training needs across Commercial functions at a General Manager and Owner/Operator level• Lead the strategy and skills trainings developing a comprehensive training path for virtual and in-person training.• Understand and utilize the commercial systems to create and deliver training across multiple systems.• Develop and deliver content across commercial services functions for above property leaders - aligning with nuances of Full-services and Select as well as franchised and managed components.• Assist in the roll out of key commercial services training initiatives• Measure behavior and drive adaption of tools post training• Develop certification program for Commercial Services for General Managers and above-property leaders• Collaborate with other regions to support scaling programming for General Managers and above-property leadersLearning & Development Administration• Auditing and reviewing learning sessions to ensure all prerequisites are met and attendance is properly tracked in Client’s Learning Management System (LMS)• Managing schedules, class adjustments, and maintaining accurate records for learning and development programs in the LMS• Analyzing feedback and summarizing course satisfaction surveys to help enhance the effectiveness of learning initiatives.Communications & Coordination• Managing email communications related to learning programs, including participant notifications, pre-work assignments, and follow-up correspondence.• Working with teams to streamline communication processes and enhance the efficiency of program-related correspondence.Assessment & Reporting• Supporting the creation, analysis, and reporting of knowledge assessments and program evaluations to ensure learning outcomes are met.• Managing data pulls and adjustments for assessments, ensuring accuracy and relevance for reporting purposes.

Experience and Qualifications required:• Minimum 7 years hotel experience, including sales with Select and Full Service hotels• Minimum 3 years Director of Sales experience in full service hotel and/or select regional experience, both are a plus• Strong knowledge of transient, group and leisure segments and understanding of marketing and revenue management functions• Proven ability to effectively communicate with varied stakeholder roles and levels• Experience in designing and developing interactive learning experiences• Multiple hotel and brand experience is a plus• Knowledge and use of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Forms)• Envision, EAS, TravelClick 360, Opera, Reserve and Lanyon RFP proficiency• Strong organizational and communication skills• Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail• Comfortable working in a remote environment• Outstanding project management, time management, and problem-solving skills• Demonstrates a commitment to Client’s core values

Preferred, but not required:• Based in the Chicagoland area is a plus!• Experience in a management role• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Applied Learning Development, or a related field• HSMAI CHSL, CRME, CHDM ( Certification | HSMAI Global) Preferred• Experience with Client tools and systems• Experience with Kahoot! online game-based learning platform• Ability to travel primarily in region - approx 50%• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.• Highly self-motivated and directed with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure.The position responsibilities outlined above are in no way to be construed as all encompassing.
