Overview:Reporting to the Research Library Manager, the Acquisitions and Access Librarian will work with other members of the Knowledge Center staff to ensure RPPE economists, policy advisors, and research assistants have the necessary information resources and economic data for their work. This role will be responsible for managing data licenses and other subscription licenses, acquiring and renewing licenses, working with procurement to manage contract workspaces, purchase orders, and other tasks in Ariba, working with the National Procurement Office to create and approve commitment letters, and communicating with users in RPPE and other bank departments to determine information needs. This role is essential in maintaining access to information resources that enable RPPE staff to fulfill their role in the FOMC process and to produce scholarly research.Responsibilities:Purchasing, licensing, and renewing library resources;managing data licenses and other subscription licenses, including understanding terms and conditions;determining user needs and negotiating with information and data providers;managing procurement-related tasks such as creating purchase orders, reconciling invoices, processing commitment letters;managing electronic access and resolving technical issues.Requirements:ALA-accredited MLIS or MSIS (new and recent graduates are encouraged to apply).One year [or more] of employment experience in a library environment.Knowledge of electronic resource licensing.Ability to cooperate in a team environment and maintain effective and respectful working relationships.Highly proficient use of computer software applications and a broad knowledge of computer databases.Well organized with the ability to handle multiple projects.Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate at all levels.Top 3 hard skills:Managing data licenses and other subscription licenses, including understanding terms and conditions.Determining user needs and negotiating with information and data providers.Managing procurement-related tasks such as creating purchase orders, reconciling invoices, processing commitment letters.
