Job Details Job Location Legal Address - DUNKIRK, MD Remote Type Optional Work from Home Position Type Full Time Salary Range $26.00 - $32.75 Hourly Job Category Engineering Description The Industrial Designer works directly within the Engineering Department to support our manufacturing facility. They should be able to use computer-aided drafting (CAD) software to design new products, modify existing products, and create special product designs. They are responsible for working with Production, Engineering, and the Product Design Team to digitally prototype new products. The Industrial Designer must demonstrate strong design fundamentals while working with the Production and Maintenance Departments, Customer Service, Art Department, and other staff members. They are responsible for ensuring that the company can quickly introduce new, custom, well-planned designs as their virtual design work eliminates the need for numerous physical prototypes. The Engineering Department spans the full spectrum of engineering, from industrial design to design engineering, manufacturing engineering to tool design.
Tasks:
Work directly with the Product Design Team to develop new products and modify existing products
Create special product designs
Virtually prototype new products and special products
Create and edit Building Information Modeling (BIM) and maintain internal and external BIM libraries
Create and edit SketchUp models and maintain internal and external SketchUp libraries
Render photo-realistic images of current products and new concepts
Create site layout views or special views that customers request
Use measuring equipment to create precisely dimensioned models
Answer internal and external engineering questions related to new or special products design
Create and revise product specifications in English, metric, scaled, and written versions
Participate in a team environment and can work on multiple projects simultaneously with high efficiency, productivity, quality, and precision
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Engineering and Technology- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various products
Design- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision drawings and models
Mathematics- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
Physics- Knowledge and prediction of physical principles, laws, their interrelationships, and applications to understand fluid, materials, and mechanical structures and processes
Production and Processing- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of products

Experience and Education:
Industrial Design Bachelor's Degree or a high school diploma/equivalent with over four years of work-related experience.
Substitution of recent or relevant work experience can waive education requirements
