Job Description
Job Title: CMH Research and Writing Services for U.S. Army History in Afghanistan 2014-2021
Location: Fort McNair, DC
Duties:
The candidate shall perform specialized historical writing services covering the U.S. Army operations in Afghanistan, 2014 to 2021.
Services shall include all these items:
Research reports in accordance with (IAW) Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) A001.
A draft prospectus, strategic setting, operations section, and analysis, IAW CDRL A002.
A revised prospectus, strategic setting, operations section, and analysis, IAW CDRL A003.
A graphics plan consisting of photos, captions, tables, and maps, IAW CDRL A004.
And these deliverables:
- The candidate shall prepare and submit periodic research reports, two (2) pages long, to provide a brief narrative summary of progress on the research conducted, to include identification of the collections reviewed, and interviews conducted, an analysis of the quality of the research acquired, and an estimated percentage of the total research completed.
- The candidate shall provide a five (5) to six (6)-page draft prospectus, strategic setting, operations section, and analysis the CMH History Book Process Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), to include a detailed outline of the manuscript.
- The candidate shall submit a five (5) to six (6)-page revised prospectus, strategic setting, operations section, analysis, and complete manuscript to the COR that incorporates editorial guidance from Jon Hoffman, the Chief Historian, U.S. Army CMH.
- The candidate shall provide a graphics plan consisting of photos, captions, tables, and maps.
Education & Qualification:
The historian/author must have a PhD or MA degree in history and must not have any factors that would disqualify them from obtaining a security clearance at the Secret level.
ANTI-TERRORISM/OPERATION SECURITY: The candidate shall adhere to all Department of Defense (DoD) and U.S. Army security regulations.
REQUIRED TRAINING: The candidate shall complete all these trainings (AT Level I Training, Army Operations Security (OPSEC) Training, iWATCH Training, Threat Awareness and Reporting Program (TARP) Training, DoD Cyber Awareness, Information Assurance, Controlled Unclassified Information, Derivative Classification Training.)
