Qualified candidates will be scheduled for interviews and required to complete a short vetting task for the role. When selected, you will be virtually onboarded and complete non-disclosure and business agreements. Invoices for payment are submitted at the beginning of each month for the previous month's work and are paid by direct deposit within 30 days.
- Manage contracted editors to schedule and quality goals
- Works with client to create or update editorial resources (style guide, editing guidelines, etc.), and review and update templates
- Be first line reference and resource for consultants (3–5 hours/week for duration of project)
- Communicates status with Executive Editor, PM and other stakeholders, and escalates concerns as needed
- Ensures client satisfaction with editorial work
- Performs "read behind" or second edit during project stage (no more than 25% of project total after POC or pilot
- Attends all project and status meetings, conducts project launch meetings, and assists with any Scribe editorial setup as needed
- Experience as a professional copy editor, developmental editor, substantive editor, or editorial project manager for educational publishing, development houses, edtech firms, or institutions is required
The ideal freelance consultant will have experience with education content formatting, organization, and terminology, especially within K-8. Minimum hourly rate $45/hr.
