Overview:
The Retail Media team at Trade School is one of our fastest growing business units. We're continuing to invest in building the most talented team to scale our Retail Media practice. Trade School is focused on the sell side of retail media networks; we have a passion to help retailers strategically build their media networks.
Our team is built to act as an extension to our clients Retail Media team, such as The Home Depot, to play a role in building a media network that's beneficial to their company and their advertiser partners. Our services include executive consultation, sales support, sales enablement, product marketing, marketing & pr, monetization strategy and more.
The Marketing Copywriter, Retail Media will help establish our clients brand voice & tone of content in their Marketing & PR efforts in partnership with our marketing team. Your goal will be to clearly articulate our clients value proposition, improving our existing communications strategy framework, generating threads between narratives to build an impactful story. You will provide exceptional copywriting support distributing these narratives on various marketing channels such as Website, LinkedIn, Industry Events and other public-facing channels.
This role will report directly to the Marketing Director, Retail Media at Trade School.
Responsibilities:
- Clearly communicate the client's unique value proposition to set them apart in the retail media industry, copywriting impactful narratives that translate back to the brands existing communications strategy framework
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to create powerful marketing content, aligning with the brand narratives, while improving overall storytelling to strengthen messaging coherence across marketing channels such as Website, LinkedIn, Industry Events, etc.
- Provide a strategic lens for copywriting in digital media, retail media and ad technology space to capture readers' attention
- Ensure that clients content and communications are consistent with the retail media industry while focusing on what makes our client stand apart from the rest
- Translate retail media trends, technologies, and metrics into understandable and easily digestible narratives that tie back to our clients communications strategy
- Clearly articulate clients unique value proposition to quickly convey what sets them apart
- Copyedit and proofread materials for quality and consistency, including grammar, punctuation and brand voice considerations
- 5+ years of communications, marketing, or journalism experience
- 5+ years of digital content or content marketing experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working in digital media or digital journalism
- Knowledgeable about digital media, retail media and/or ad technology and able to apply these insights to their work
- Excellent writer, communicator, and copy editor with the ability to simplify complex ideas into clear, concise copy, while maintaining high quality work with their attention to detail
- Experience copywriting for websites or Linkedin a plus
- Experience copywriting sales enablement materials for retail or digital media networks a plus
