Salary:

I.M. Systems Group, Inc. (IMSG) www.imsg.com is expanding our Proposal and Papers Team, and seeking a full-time new hire Proposal Writer/Editor. IMSG, established in 1987, specializes in science and technology support and solutions to Federal Government and commercial interests. This position requires a self-starting workstyle and facilitates a hybrid (90/10) remote work and office-based work plan. Our Headquarters is in Rockville, MD. This full-time position receives assigned work and is directly reportable to the Proposal Manager with dotted reporting to the Chief Operations Officer.


Job Duties:


The successful candidate will be responsible for assigned technical and non-technical writing/editing of corporate solicitation responses with experience in writing to or working with technical or scientific content. The success of the candidate is directly related to meeting quality and time deadlines, and especially the professional editing and revising proposals according to feedback from the overall contributing team.


Further success is achieved by a candidate who exhibits confidence in accepting responsibility for assisting on or directly taking on short and long-term special projects as needs arise and as requirements evolve.


The role includes collaboration with our Proposal Manager, Business Development Manager, Operations Team, and our business managers within the federal program technical and scientific communities.


It is expected the proposal writer/editor will demonstrate experience in developing and maintaining consistency in proposal writing with express detail in compliance following guidelines from RFP. Additionally, the position must have expertise in working with a design team and visuals necessary for the proposal.


The role will also support the development of IMSG’s annual Outreach Strategic Plan

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, English or related field or reasonable experience equivalent.
  • Demonstrable experience in writing federal proposal responses in technology and/or scientific fields, with a preferred area of atmospheric sciences, meteorology, oceanography, marine sciences, environmental satellite remote sensing, numerical modeling. Advanced degree(s) in these disciplines is a plus. Additional knowledge generally in IT, cloud computing, Agile development is a plus.
  • 5+ years’ experience in writing responses to the US federal RFP, RFI, documents.
  • Detail oriented, well-organized, self-motivated, and able to work well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated High Proficient or Expert Level MS Office suite.


Specific preferred experience would include:

  • Structured Shipley Proposal Certification
  • Project or program management experience.
  • Direct or indirect experience with federal agencies such as NOAA, NASA.
  • Direct or indirect writing, crafting, or creating written work products for Federal Agencies.


Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder to qualify

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000
