Insight Therapeutics, LCC in conjunction with CommuniCare Family of Companies is focused on advancing the care of older adults through research and strategic consulting. We collaborate with academia and industry to answer strategic questions through clinical trials to produce real world evidence. Our goal is to advance high quality and safe care for older adults, where they live. Insight Therapeutics, LLC is looking for an experienced Grant Writer.


The Grant Writer will research and identify grant opportunities, prepare comprehensive and interdisciplinary grant proposals, and manage the grant writing process from start to finish. This includes developing project plans, researching and preparing grant budgets, maintaining grant records, and supporting the administrative aspects of post-award grant processing. The successful candidate must have a demonstrated track record of writing successful grant proposals and possess strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.

*The position is based at our Norfolk, Virginia Headquarters but will entertain a hybrid/remote role for the right candidate.


Responsibilities

  • Work with the Insight team and outside stakeholders to plan, write, and edit research grants for submission to federal (e.g., PCORI, NIH, NSF, CDC, HRSA, etc.), state, and county agencies as well as foundations.
  • Research, identify, prepare, and submit required documentation for grant funding opportunities in collaboration with the Insight team. This includes meeting with stakeholders to produce reports/content required for such submissions, establishing relationships with internal and external partners in research to establish grants, and working with the team to produce any required reports/follow-up documentation that might be required for awarded grants.
  • Collaborate with PI and research staff to communicate and resolve any issues that arise concerning proposal submission.
  • Work with the team to prepare statements of work, logic models, timelines, and budgets for grant applications.
  • Maintain a grant proposal-tracking system to ensure timely submission of proposals and accurate records of proposals. Provide on-going reports of progress, including a summary of grant proposals worked on and the level of assistance in each case.
  • Work in tandem with Insight’s Science Director in allocating resources and managing timelines.


Education, Training and Experience

  • 5 years of grant writing experience, preferably with a health care and research focus.
  • Experience should demonstrate a proven track record of securing new funding opportunities; comprehensive knowledge of research, and the ability to distinguish and identify opportunities.
  • Previous grant budget development and management experience.
  • Knowledge of federal regulations, funding policies, procedures and applicable local, state, federal and university regulations.
  • Advanced skills in planning which combines the interests of multiple stakeholders within an institution or organization.


Preferred


● High proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and google documents, skill in document layout and formatting with strong attention to detail.

● Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a cross-functional team.

● Solid understanding of clinical or social research.

● Excellent writing and verbal skills.
